  • Preheat oven to 350° F. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and allspice in a medium mixing bowl. Using a whisk, mix well for one minute. Add the applesauce, eggs, and vegetable oil. Mix well with an electric mixer on medium speed for 3 minutes or until the batter is smooth. Stir in the pecans.
  • Pour the batter into two 9 X 1-1/2-inch non-stick round baking pans. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the cakes from the pans and let them cool for 10 minutes. Decorate with Cream Cheese frosting, if desired.
